The Budapest Gambit

This CD presents the aggressive opening system 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 e5! that leads to an uncompromising struggle from the first opening moves. Instead of going for a sophisticated positional defense, Black tries to snatch initiative from White and offers a pawn sacrifice, giving this so-called "closed opening" a spirit of open play. The main task of the author is to present the most significant ideas, strategical plans, typical traps and tactical ideas while explaining the history of the opening. This gives the reader an opportunity to follow the footsteps of the best Budapest players, from the past until modern times.
