The characters are based on original drawings that appeared in Strand Magazine in 1890 to accompany the Sherlock Holmes stories. In this magnificent chess set, Mr. Holmes and Doctor Watson face their greatest adversary, Professor Moriarty, across the chess board. Also featured are Mrs. Hudson, Inspector Lestrade, Irene Adler, Colonel Moran, and the infamous Hound of the Baskervilles.
Hand crafted of ground natural stone, and hand decorated by the professional artists of Studio Anne Carlton, this finely detailed chess set makes a beautiful and decorative statement for the home or office.
